Junior Electrical Engineer (Manchester)

MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR TOP SECUIRTY CLEARANCEResponsibilities Assist in the development of new product designs from concept through research, development, testing, and production.Support electrical architecture development and design activities for unmanned systems and related technologies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, systems engineering, manufacturing, program management, suppliers, and customers.Contribute to schematic design and analysis for:Battery-powered systemsPower and signal integrity analysisMotor control circuitsAnalog and digital electronicsHigh-speed data communication interfacesElectromagnetic compatibility (EMC) best practicesAssist with PCB component placement and layout, focusing on compact, high-density designs with low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) requirements.Participate in design verification through simulation, laboratory testing, prototype evaluation, and requirements validation.Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of electrical issues, and help implement corrective actions.Provide engineering support to manufacturing and production teams as needed.Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, test reports, design records, and technical presentations.Assist in system integration, debugging, and product qualification testing.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.1–3 years of relevant engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, or entry-level industry experience.Strong desire to learn, develop new technical skills, and contribute in a fast-paced engineering environment.Familiarity with ECAD tools for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (such as OrCAD, Allegro, Altium, or similar tools).Basic hands-on experience with electronic system integration, debugging, and testing.Experience using common laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers.Basic soldering and prototyping skills.Understanding of fundamental electrical engineering concepts, including analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and signal integrity.Exposure to battery-powered systems, embedded electronics, or electro-optical systems is a plus.Experience or coursework related to defense, aerospace, robotics, or unmanned systems is desirable but not required.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.Ability to interact professionally with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
