Java DeveloperWe are seeking an experienced J2EE/JAVA developer with previous exposure to working in a financial services industry. The right individual will need to leverage their existing skills to quickly familiarize themselves with our existing environment and technology to deliver on time sensitive projects for a leading investment manager.As a Java Developer you will:Designs and builds new software and features to existing softwareUses strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns to design software that promotes efficiency, testability, and maintainabilityProvide detailed articulate technical designs explaining what and how the application components are impacted for release changesConvert legacy system into micro services or has converted a legacy system by breaking it into micro services.Reverse engineering and digital transformation of legacy system into modern designUnderstand complex end-to-end transaction processing flows through multiple applications across a broad range of financial asset classes.Understanding the importance of automated testing and different levels at which these need to be performedPerform code reviews and collaboratively work with team members in product development effortsValidating production deployment of applicationsThese skills will help you succeed in this role:Self- motivated, curious, creative and passionate about emerging technologyStrong understanding of SDLC process and project methodologies (Agile/Scrum).Application issue diagnosis skillsStrong critical thinking and problem solving skills.Strong team collaboration skillsExcellent communication & analytical skillsAbility to multi-task and succeed in a dynamic, high demand environmentEducation & Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related or relevant field7+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EEHands-on advanced knowledge of relational databases/SQL/Stored procedures (Sybase preferred).Experience with Unix and shell scriptingExperience in Visual Studio, Eclipse, XML, MVC, and React JS Framework skillsExperience with micro-services and component-based architecturesStrong coding, design & debugging skillsRespond to and troubleshoot production issues promptly as neededShould have worked and delivered projects in a fast-phased approachExperience with Agile Project management methodologiesPrior experience working in the Capital Markets domain with Asset Management, Investment Banking organization is preferredKnowledge of using AI Tools such as GitHub CoPilot is a plusJoin us if you want to grow your technical skills, solve real problems and make your mark on our industry.State Street is one of the largest custodian banks, asset managers and asset intelligence companies in the world.
