About the Part-Time Visitor Experience Attendant Role:
BRIC seeks enthusiastic individuals for the part-time position of Visitor Experience Attendant. Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, Visitor Experience Attendants will serve as the first point of contact for guests entering BRIC’s spaces. This will include welcoming visitors at the Greeter Desk and Gallery Attendant Desk during regular open hours, as well as taking tickets and greeting audience members at various performing arts events.
What You’ll Do in the Role:
The part time Visitor Experience Attendant will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Operations Manager:
Events Staffing
Staff BRIC House events and provide support at check-in, including scanning tickets
Politely direct and escort patrons to their seats
Greet audiences at performances, answer general questions
Provide patrons with programs and other relevant materials
Be aware of and enforce appropriate house rules
Other duties as directed
Greeter Desk, Gallery Attendant, and Office Management
Staff the front desk of BRIC House and provide a welcoming environment to visitors and staff
Staff the attendant desk at BRIC’s gallery of contemporary art, including opening and closing the gallery space
Answer the main phone line, field general inquiries, and provide information on BRIC’s programs and exhibitions as needed
Monitor the Info inbox, respond to visitor inquiries, and forward emails to the appropriate parties
Manage incoming and outgoing mail
Maintain a neat and organized front desk space
Ensure that all gallery media installations are running properly
Track gallery attendance
Facilitate sales of exhibition catalogs
Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment while remaining calm, friendly, and attentive
Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Availability to work evening hours and weekends
Patron services, retail or sales experience
Prior experience at live performance venues
Communication & Relationship Building: An emotionally intelligent, values- and results-driven team player. Skilled communicator and relationship builder.
Organization & Time Management: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks across competing deadlines, and be proactive.
Other Things to Know:
Compensation: $16/hour
Status and location: This is a part-time role based in our Brooklyn office, 15-20 hours per week. Regular weekend hours available. Candidates must be from the NYC area.
