Accounting Manager 📍 Chicago, IL | HybridA publicly traded, global food and beverage technology and manufacturing company is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Accounting Center of Excellence, leading critical close processes, driving continuous improvement, and serving as a key liaison across business operations, shared services, treasury, and external auditors.This is a high-autonomy role for an experienced accounting leader who thrives in complex, multi-entity environments and enjoys owning both execution and process transformation.What You'll Do:Lead assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process across multiple entities in the Americas regionPrepare and review complex journal entries including revenue recognition, intercompany, inventory, accruals, leases, and manufacturing-related accountingPerform and review account reconciliations ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper documentationSupport and review OneStream reporting and submissionsOwn and execute key SOX controls including documentation and evidence retention for newly acquired and existing entitiesPartner with internal and external auditors to support audit requests and walkthroughsLead the integration of legacy organizations into the Accounting CoE model, defining roles and collaborating with global leadsWork across ERP environments (JDE, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Epicor, Syteline 9) to ensure accurate data flow and reporting integritySupport system transitions, automation initiatives, and ERP mapping across reporting platformsProvide technical accounting guidance to junior staff and business partnersIdentify inefficiencies in close and reporting processes and lead improvement initiativesSupport post-merger integration, system alignment, and accounting process standardizationWhy This Role Stands Out:✅ High autonomy with true ownership across close, reporting, controls, and systems ✅ Pivotal role in post-merger integration and ERP transformation ✅ Cross-functional visibility spanning Finance, Treasury, Shared Services, and external auditors ✅ Complex, interesting accounting work in a global manufacturing environment✅ Hybrid flexibility in downtown Chicago
