Working as a part of a world-class team to achieve great things together, if our customers and employees don’t rave about Pegasus, then we have failed.General Responsibilities:The Workplace Operations Technician is responsible for assisting in overseeing the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical systems.Schedule:Tuesday - Friday: 9am-5:30pm & Saturday: 6am - 2:30pmOR Tuesday - Friday: 10am - 6:30pm & Saturday: 1pm-9:30pmSchedules may shift but employees will be given a notice prior to any change. Pay: $35-$45 per hour (DOE)Specific Duties / Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance of refrigeration storage equipment at multiple locationsKnowledge of controls and electric (high and low voltage)Checking, draining, and filling oil levels as neededOil analysisFilter changesChecking, adjusting, or replacing all belts as neededChecking compressors and cycle operations of eachChecking condensers and cycle operations of each unitResponsible for logging time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) on a daily basis in the form of work orders, P.M.s. etc.Checking, changing, or filling water treatment chemical levelsOversee and manager Refrigeration, Electrical, and HVAC systems including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting and repairs (compressors, condensers, fans, heating, cooling, contactors, motors, microprocessors, frequency drives, etc.), leak detection, conducting required inspections and reporting, evaluating and implementing energy management strategiesEvaluating and reporting equipment conditionCompletes small electrical repairs and brazing projects as neededResponsible for daily communication of all pertinent information regarding system operation and maintenance to departmental management and maintenance teamsResponsible for housekeeping and cleanup of refrigeration machine rooms, refrigeration maintenance areas, and all project areas on a daily basisRequired to interpret and understand plans and specifications, schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, etc. for systems being overseenChecking condition of the freezer and cooler curtainsHVAC system inspections, adjustments, repairs and maintenanceUsage of HVAC automated management systems for monitoringRepair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring in HVAC equipmentCarry out preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on HVAC equipmentAppliance repairs as directedPerforms all other duties as assigned, including non-refrigeration tasks like facility, light carpentry, light plumbing, changing of light bulbs, and repair of minor electrical devicesMaintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe working orderMaintain technical skills and required certifications to perform job dutiesComplete/close tickets or work orders (must be able to manage open tickets and document completed tickets in system).Work Environment:This job operates in a commercial building setting. This role routinely uses a wide variety of hand and power tools, measurement tools, computer systems, ladders, and requires working in utility rooms, rooftops, and office spaces. Work requires exposure to extreme cold and heat and working around noise, dirt, dust, grease, and high voltage wires.Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibility.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Travel: Travel between 2-3 sites in the Greater LA area. Required Education and Experience:High School diploma or equivalent4+ years of related experience or education required.EPA 608 certification.
