This position completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnoses issues, ensuring water quality, and repairing system malfunctions as they occur.We Are Currently Looking For aSandcastle - Aquatics Maintenance Technician (Full-Time)Roles & ResponsibilitiesThis position plays an integral role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of water park rides and attractions, which, in turn, strengthens guest satisfaction.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct daily pre-opening inspections of waterslides and pools to ensure there are no safety or performance issues.Ensures that all pools are chemically balanced for operation according to codes and standards set by state and local Health Department and park managementAbility to respond to trouble calls, diagnose, and correct mechanical issues.Maintain the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner.Perform repairs and service as directed by the manufacturers’ requirements and specifications.Perform preventative maintenance such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks, HVAC Cleaning, door/ lock repair, plumbing, cleaning, painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, electrical repairs, and various other issues that ariseSchedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.Utilize the proper PPE, depending on the nature of the job.Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure mannerComplete repair work orders in a timely manner.Keep maintenance and Park leadership fully informed of current issues.All other duties assigned by leadershipEducation And ExperienceHigh School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered2+ years previous work experience in maintenance or mechanics highly desired.1-2 years previous work experience at a waterpark, swimming pool, or other aquatics-related facility is preferredWorking knowledge with water chemistry, pumps, and motors highly desiredLanguage: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.RequirementsMust be at least 18 years of age to comply with PA Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to closeMust possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving recordMust possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective mannerMust possess a general practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and carpentry; knowledge of pumps and motors a plusAbility to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawingsFamiliarity and experience with fiberglass and other water slide structures a plusFamiliarity with state and local codes as they relate to Aquatics attractionsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods of timeAbility to remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or moreAbility to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manliftsAbility to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/toolsAbility to see differences between colors and brightnessAbility to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayWorking ConditionsFrequent exposure to water and pool cleaning chemicalsFrequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditionsSubject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greasesSubject to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE is required in these situations.Subject to working at heights greater than 100 feetTeam Member BenefitsWhy Sandcastle?We truly believe that where you work matters and, as a theme park company, we like to think we know a thing or two about what makes people happy.Sandcastle Perks And BenefitsCompetitive compensationComprehensive health and wellness package401k Savings and Investment planFree admission to Kennywood, Sandcastle, & IdlewildA generous paid time off program in which the benefits increase with your tenure with the companyDo not miss the chance to spark your career now!
