Rural Alaskan experience preferred.Training and/or experience in the administration of vocational education, state and federal grants, student activities and regular educational programs preferred.Experience and knowledge in evaluation/selection of curriculum materials required.Experience in supervision and evaluation of personnel required.Demonstrated ability to work positively in multilingual/multicultural environment required.Ability to work, live and travel in a remote area of western Alaska.Progressive professional attitude: the ability to accept and implement educational change required.Ability to work and contribute as a member of a management team required.REPORTS TO: SuperintendentSUPERVISES: Administrative Assistant for CurriculumJOB GOAL: To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational program districtwide.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervises continual upgrading of districtwide curriculum and programs; Plans, facilitate and supervises staff development activities; Supervises the evaluation and selection of new curriculum materials; Assists in the supervision and evaluation of principals and schools as directed; Develops and implements administrative regulations and procedures at the direction of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of matters affecting the management and operation of the district; Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of certificated personnel; Maintains close working relationship with site principals, district office staff and the Superintendent; Performs such other duties as may be directed by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.LENGTH OF POSITION: 251 days, July 1, 2026SALARY: Depending on experience / negotiated salary scheduleEVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board Policy.AN AFFIRMATIVE ACTION-EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERAPPLICATIONS FROM MINORITIES ARE ENCOURAGED
