Job Title Maintenance Technician IILocation Grand Rapids, MI 49504, Onsite roleJob type 12 months contract (with possible extension)Shift Schedule 2nd Shift / 3rd Shift, Training Shift 1st Shift (2 3 weeks for onboarding and training) About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to support manufacturing operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production and facility equipment. This role is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience who can help ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime in a production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine preventive maintenance on production and facility equipmentTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systemsRespond to equipment issues promptly to minimize downtimeDiagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actionsTest equipment and evaluate performance to ensure operational efficiencyDocument maintenance activities, troubleshooting results, and repairs in internal systemsRead and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manualsRepair or replace components such as sensors, motors, controllers, and power suppliesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve maintenance issuesFollow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirementsMaintain a clean and organized work environment aligned with 5S principlesAssist with equipment setup, installation, and continuous improvement initiativesRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDHands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environmentStrong troubleshooting skills in electrical and pneumatic systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsExperience using diagnostic tools such as multimetersUnderstanding of industrial equipment, motors, and basic controlsGood communication and documentation skillsPreferred QualificationsTechnical certification in electrical, mechanical, or maintenance-related fieldExperience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., medical device, pharmaceutical, etc.)Familiarity with HMI systems and automated equipmentExperience with packaging equipment such as Form Fill & Seal or sealing systemsExposure to machining equipment such as mills and lathesKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
