Payroll Specialist III

Payroll Specialist III The Payroll Specialist III is accountable and responsible for quality service for assigned clients. Contacts and assists clients in process of obtaining information for payroll production and tax related issues; verifies totals, responds to/resolves client questions and problems and delivers quality customer service. As well as assists with ancillary products and ensures integration. This role also serves as an example to other Payroll Specialists and services more complex client load.The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Assists in on-boarding new clients on payroll and all ancillary products.Assists with transition of client from implementation to payroll departmentCompiling payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductionsPolling electronic time clocks and reviewing the information for completeness and accuracyContacting various clients for any missing informationProcessing weekly transfer of payroll data to payroll systemPulling payroll management reports from payroll software systemResponsible for answering payroll department calls and other admin functions to support departmentPerforming non-full disclosure accounting procedures for clients, including monthly financial compiled statements, A/R, A/P, time billing, P/R, G/L, tax paymentsMaintaining a high rate of client retention through quality serviceAuditing accruals and implementing new policiesLeading by example for other Payroll team membersPerforming other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)High School Diploma or two or more years of office-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; college degree is highly preferredSolid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws required for multiple statesExperience as Payroll Specialist 5+ years, within Kronos UKG Ready platform a plusProven facility in MS Office, data entry, and office equipment (e.g., telephone, head set, 10-key or calculator, computer, FAX machine, printer/copier)Proven facility in customer service, and problem resolutionExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
