Warehouse Worker This physically demanding warehouse role focuses on the manual movement, loading, and unloading of tires to keep a high-volume distribution center running efficiently. Working the 1:00 AM to 9:00 AM shift, Monday through Friday, you will help ensure that trucks are loaded accurately, incoming inventory is processed quickly, and the warehouse remains safe, organized, and compliant with regulations. Responsibilities Manually unload incoming containers of tires and load outgoing trucks throughout the shift. Consistently support team production targets of up to 3,200+ tires per shift and help complete 4–5 trucks per day. Pick and stage tires accurately and efficiently for immediate loading onto outbound trucks. Verify all incoming and outgoing products for correct size, type, and quantity against shipping and receiving documents. Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move tires and pallets within the warehouse. Use pallet jacks and other material handling tools to support loading, unloading, and staging activities. Conduct visual inspections of all incoming stock for manufacturer defects, sidewall damage, or dry rot before placing product into active picking slots. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in accordance with OSHA safety regulations. Follow all safety procedures when performing heavy lifting, loading, unloading, and general labor tasks. Assist with inventory-related tasks such as order picking, packing, and basic inventory checks as needed. Essential Skills Proven ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting, pushing, and throwing tires weighing 50–100 lbs repeatedly over an 8–10 hour shift. High level of physical stamina to handle constant bending, reaching, twisting, and other repetitive motions throughout the shift. Experience with loading and unloading trucks in a warehouse or distribution environment. Ability to safely operate forklifts and related material handling equipment. Proficiency using pallet jacks and other material handling tools. Experience with order picking, staging, and packing in a warehouse setting. Attention to detail when verifying product size, type, and quantity against shipping papers. Ability to inspect products visually for damage or defects before stocking or loading. Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment while meeting team targets. Commitment to following OSHA safety regulations and maintaining a safe work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in general labor or warehouse roles involving heavy lifting and manual material handling. Background in inventory, order picking, and material handling in a distribution or logistics environment. Familiarity with working in a non-climate-controlled facility. Comfort working overnight or early-morning shifts on a consistent schedule. Strong teamwork skills and reliability to support a high-velocity logistics operation. Why Work Here? Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a large, approximately 500,000 square foot distribution facility that operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The warehouse is non-climate-controlled, so temperatures will vary with the seasons and require comfort working in both warm and cold conditions. The shift runs from 1:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Monday through Friday, and typically involves 8–10 hours of continuous physical activity. You will work around forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, and you are expected to follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edenton, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
