Senior Technical Designer

Sweet Apparel is a leader in Junior's, Women's, Men's, and Kids fast fashion apparel. Sweet Apparel designs, manufactures, and imports apparel under its own labels as well as multiple Private labels. Our clothing can be found at major retailers including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, Macy's, and more. The company is growing and looking for a full-time, Senior Technical Designer to join the team on-site at the Midtown Manhattan office.ResponsibilitiesWork with multiple product categories within Athleisure division (tops, pants, shorts, sets, dresses, skirts, activewear, and lounge) for Juniors, Missy, Plus and Men's sizesAccurately measure Fit/PP/TOP samplesAttend fit sessions and take detailed notesResponsible for identifying and calling out any fit/construction/workmanship issues to be addressed and communicating all corrections and revisions to factoryCreate initial tech packs for development/costing and fit sample submitsEnsure all corrections have been made at the pre-production sample stage to perfect the fit/quality for production.Work with Private label accounts to achieve desired fitKnowledge of grading and ability to issue graded specsAbility to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are metTrack and manage sample statusLog in samples and assist with keeping sample library organizedBuild collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, production, and sales.QualificationsDegree in Technical Design or Fashion Design8+ years experience in Apparel Technical DesignKnowledge of sewing construction, patternmaking, garment manufacturing, and fabrics.Proficient in PLM and ExcelClo3d experience is preferred, but not requiredAttention to detail, sense of urgency, willingness to learn, team-playerExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment***Must currently live in the NYC metropolitan area (commutable distance to NYC).
