Manufacturing Drafter

Job Description Location: Trussville, ALJob Type: Full-Time Job SummaryDNT is seeking a detail-oriented mid-level Manufacturing Drafter. This role will be responsible for transforming complex engineering concepts into precise technical drawings and designs. The ideal candidate will have some technical knowledge of steel production/fabrication and have the interpersonal skills to work well within a team. This position reports to the Head Engineer. Key ResponsibilitiesProduce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings based on exact specifications from the engineering teamUtilize CAD software to create blueprints for manufacturing, ensuring accuracy and manufactuabilityUpdate and maintain existing design documentation to reflect real-time engineering or manufacturing changesCreate design specifications, documentation and material listsManage and organize a digital library of all project drawings and specificationsEnsure all drawings comply with industry standards and company quality protocolsPrepare complete documentation packages for engineersDeveloping technical reports for engineers Require QualificationsMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in the steel industryHigh proficiency in CAD software: knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor or Fusion 360 is a major plusStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and technical engineering principlesAbility to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environmentPrevious experience in manufacturing or industrial environment or a degree/certification in Drafting/Design is preferredAbility to multitask and mange several projects at a timeInterpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from EngineersTime management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframeCommunication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reportsSolid communication skills to bridge the gap between design and productionCritical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutionsExceptional attention to detail and ability to follow exact specifications What We OfferAbove-average salary and a comprehensive benefits package401(k) Security: 5% company contribution every pay periodInsurance Coverages: Health, Dental and Vision insurance (VSP coverage)Stability: A long-term career path with opportunities for advancement in a growing industryPaid Time Off to support a healthy work-life balanceCompany DescriptionA fully integrated design and manufacturing facility specializing in high current power transfer components and field construction services.
