Base pay range $60.00/hr - $70.00/hr Onsite Monday–Thursday, Remote Fridays We are looking for a Cloudflare-focused System Engineer to take ownership of Cloudflare operations and help move their environment from log-only mode to active WAF protection. This is an opportunity to be the dedicated Cloudflare SME and make a major impact on security posture, application reliability, and audit readiness. What You'll Do Serve as the primary administrator for Cloudflare across multiple domains Manage WAF tuning, rule creation, false-positive review, and safe enforcement rollouts Analyze Cloudflare traffic logs, identify malicious patterns, and recommend protections Work closely with application teams to test, validate, and negotiate rule changes Support DNS, proxying, SSL/TLS, caching, and performance configurations Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams on protection strategies Assist with compliance requirements (HIPAA, PII, audit items) Contribute to cloud efforts (primarily GCP, some AWS) as needed — ~20% of the role Document processes, assist in incident response, and share best practices What We're Looking For 2+ years of hands-on Cloudflare administration Strong experience with DNS, proxying, SSL/TLS Traffic and log analysis Caching/Performance fundamentals Experience working with application teams to troubleshoot false positives Solid cloud background — GCP preferred, AWS nice-to-have Good communication skills — must work cross-functionally with infra, security, and app owners Ability to guide a phased rollout from logging ? enforcement mode Hybrid role: onsite Mon–Thurs in Lisle, IL (flexibility as needed) Seniority level Associate Employment type Full-time Job function Information Technology Industries: Staffing and Recruiting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Advantage Technical by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) We're unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
