Senior Accountant

A well-established entertainment-based company that has been in business for over 20 years is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join its growing finance and accounting team. This role will play a key part in overseeing the monthly close process, supporting global accounting operations, and partnering cross-functionally with leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of processes while contributing to a dynamic organization.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and execute the full monthly close cycle, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals are completed accurately and on time.Maintain and continuously improve the integrity of the general ledger, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting.Contribute to forecasting cycles by supplying timely and reliable data from core accounting functions.Support internal and external audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and coordinating the timely delivery of requested documentation.Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.Assist in identifying and remediating control gaps and implementing corrective action plans.Oversee the accounting treatment for various expense categories, ensuring proper coding, accruals, and timely recognition in line with company policy.Review and approve expense reports and related journal entries.Document, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and workflows to enhance efficiency and scalability.Design and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.Identify opportunities for process automation and standardization across accounting operations.Drive enhancements to month end reporting packages and management reports to better meet the needs of key stakeholders.Develop and maintain dashboards or reporting templates that improve transparency and decision support.Provide mentorship, day to day guidance, and performance support to junior members of the accounting team.Review work prepared by staff accountants for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with accounting standards.Foster a collaborative, learning oriented environment that supports professional growthRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a complex or multi entity organization.Strong understanding of the general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement, with the ability to analyze and explain variances across both.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.Demonstrated experience with large scale ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or comparable platforms.Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality results in a fast paced environment.Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of financial reporting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of seniority.PreferredExperience working within an organization that operates across multiple countries or international offices.CPA license or active progress toward certification.Familiarity with intercompany accounting, foreign currency transactions, or consolidation processes.Prior involvement in audit preparation, process improvement initiatives, or system implementations.
