If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, treat the business as if it is your own and add value accordingly, come see why we’re Calumet Proud!PURPOSE:This position is responsible for coordinating the transportation of all inbound and outbound shipments and reports directly to the Transportation Supervisor.KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Determines the most economical method for shipping and receiving orders by taking into consideration freight rates, customer requests/preferences, i.e. TS truck, and back haul opportunities, etc.Generate and publish a delivery and shipment scheduleReconcile freight issues such as demurrage, fuel surcharges and billing discrepanciesTrack and record service provider statistics, i.e. on schedule, ability to accommodate customers, etc.Initiate Preventive Actions as neededOther duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school2+ years in a transportation coordinator role or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experienceAbility to solve practical problems and deal with changing concrete variables with limited supervisionPREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:Previous SAP and/or JDE experience; other ERP software experience a plusCOMPETENCIES:Demonstration of Calumet Values – Safety, Environment & Social Responsibility, Teamwork, Ownership, Passion for Customers, and ExcellenceExcellent communication skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and deadlinesExcellent communications skills used in building customer relationshipsAbility to work independently and to work collaboratively in a team environmentSalary and benefits commensurate with experience.
