We are working with a major European institution delivering a high-profile digital transformation initiative within a secure and highly regulated environment.
They require a Software Developer (Level 2 – Mid-Level) to join them on a consulting engagement, supporting the development of core systems within a large-scale programme.
This role will focus on hands-on full-stack development of Java-based applications, contributing to the delivery of key digital components while collaborating within an agile team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain software components across backend and frontend layers using Java and modern frameworks
Implement features for core systems including backend services, testing tools, and web portals
Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices with databases and external systems
Contribute to unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks
Customise and configure tools and frameworks to meet project-specific requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, ensuring high-quality and stable software delivery
Collaborate with senior developers (Level 3) to improve code quality and system performance
Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and progress reviews
Maintain technical documentation for developed components and support knowledge transfer
Required Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of experience in software development, with strong full-stack exposure
Solid expertise in Java development using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Micronaut
Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban)
Exposure to automated testing tools (e.g. JUnit, Selenium)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on assigned tasks
Excellent communication skills in English

Location: Hybrid – 50% onsite in Frankfurt, 50% remote (within EEA)
