From junior to staff, own subsystems end-to-end: concept → detail design → test → iterate → volume production.Job RequirementsDesign mechanical parts and electromechanical subsystems (frames, limbs, joints, power transmission systems, etc)Perform structural FEA to reach optimum stiffness to weight ratio and achieve our fatigue life criteriaSelect and integrate motors, sensors, PCBAs, cabling...DFx: manufacturability, assembly, cost, serviceabilityBuild and break prototypes, iterate quicklyMust-HaveBS/MS Mechanical EngineeringCAD software fluencyStrong fundamentals of structural mechanicsHands-on prototyping skillsStructural FEA and G&T experienceHas shipped at least 1 product4+ years experienceExtensive bearing selection experienceNice-to-HaveRobotics or consumer hardware volume productionAnsys, injection molding, die casting, machiningBearing selection experienceBenefits & CompensationSalary Range: $175,950 - $253,000 + EquityHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysEqual Opportunity Employer1X is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
