JOB DESCRIPTIONGiles County School SystemRTI Coordinator/Teacher/InterventionistPurpose Statement:The job of the RTI teacher/interventionist is to provide training and support to K-12 (school assigned) building level administrators and classroom teachers regarding educational interventions for at-risk students.QUALIFICATIONS:Valid Tennessee teaching license and appropriate grade level certification required.Master's Degree with appropriate endorsement for grade level & HQ status preferred.Three years or more teaching experience is preferred.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:Report to the site principal.To give full, willing and helpful cooperation in carrying out all reasonable instructions or extra assignments which are given by the principal before, after and during the school day.To follow state and local courses of study, to follow rules and policies established by the principal.To give full, willing and helpful cooperation in carrying out the Response to Intervention (RTI) process in schools K-12 (school assigned).To assist schools in the organization of the Universal Screening process.To provide training to administrators and teachers in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process and educational interventions.Model research-based instructional interventions and collaborate with teachers to determine approaches that best meet students' needs.Provide consultation to schools regarding the progress of struggling students and offer suggestions for intervention to meet students' needs.Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment.Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment.Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.Working Environment:The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 20% walking, and 40% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.Experience: Job related experience is required.Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in job related area.Continuing Education/Training: Maintain Licensure.
