Title: Non-Credit Part Time Faculty- Culinary or BakingDepartment: Hotel, Culinary Arts & TourismCampus Location: Arnold/Main CampusSalary Range: variesWork Mode: This position requires a full-time in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations.Work Schedule: nights and weekendsPosition Type: Part-Time Faculty, ExemptPosition SummaryThe Hospitality, Culinary Arts, and Tourism Institute (HCAT) Part Time Instructor is a member of the program team dedicated to promoting world class hospitality education at Anne Arundel Community College. The Part Time Instructor will be responsible for the delivery of educational content to HCAT students.Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) is committed to enriching the educational experience it offers through the diversity of its faculty, administrators, and staff members. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B and TN sponsorship) is not available for any position.Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. .In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide instruction of Hospitality, Culinary and/or Baking & Pastry courses in the HCAT Institute as directed by enrollments and as assigned by your supervisor on a semester basis.Prepare daily instructional lesson plans based upon agreed upon curriculum and instruct in a manner consistent with the philosophy, policies, and guidelines of the college.Instruct lectures and hands-on classes on campus, off campus or remotely to a standard consistent with the professional standards of Anne Arundel Community College.Ensure that a variety of technologies are incorporated into the delivery of assigned courses.Attend all departmental, divisional and assigned association's meetings as requested.Maintain professional and effective communications and mutually beneficial relationships with all departments in related program areas.Assess the learning outcomes listed in the course guide or syllabus of the class(s).File course grades consistently and with 100% accuracy.Required Qualifications:Associates degree and an executive level ACF certification or comparable industry certification or Bachelor's Degree.Combination of hospitality, culinary, and or baking and pastry related education and industry experience required.Five years of related industry experience required.Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work with minimal supervision with attention to details and deadlines.Ability to teach nights and weekends.Familiarity with Microsoft computer applications such as word processing, data base management or industry specific point of sales systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Schedule will vary based on availabilityPreferred Qualifications:
