Residential Counselors are responsible for working closely with young adult (ages 18-24) clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter site to provide life skills support to individuals who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations, which includes enforcing safety measures, program rules, and expectations using a trauma-informed and client centered approach.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesAssist with screening, intake activities and orientation of new clients into the shelter programProvide guidance and information to clients regarding the daily activity schedule, house rules, and policiesAbility to adhere to and enforce program rules policies and proceduresOversee security and safetyComplete housekeeping dutiesEnsure daily chores are completedProvide emergency crisis management to individualsUphold the values of CTI – Equity, Integrity, CompassionThe duties listed above are representative of the work performed.
