EMG Technician/Medical Assistant
Job Summary
As an EMG Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic nerve conduction tests. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide accurate readings for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electromyography (EMG) tests and nerve conduction studies.
Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
Provide excellent customer service and support to patients and their families.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Cleans, adjusts and performs routine maintenance and repair on neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure proper functioning. Troubleshoots routine equipment problems.
Pre-op patients for procedures.
Organize and schedule appointments
Update and file medical records
Prior pain clinic experience is a plus
Check with patients and type up patients charts
Assist during medical examinations
Sterilization/autoclave experience is a plus
Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Qualifications:
Certification as an EMG Technician OR Certification such as Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T.)
Experience as a Medical Assistant is a plus.
Strong understanding of neuromuscular disorders and EMG procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
