DescriptionTyler Technologies’ Salem, Oregon location is seeking a full-time Front-End Designer/Developer to design and develop modern, accessible websites for our state and local government partners. This hybrid role combines user experience design, accessibility, and front-end development within CMS platforms.You will work closely with customers to gather requirements, design user-friendly experiences, and implement those designs into functional websites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both designing intuitive interfaces and bringing them to life through front-end development. You will be part of a small, collaborative team responsible for enhancing existing websites and building new digital experiences that improve how users access government services.ResponsibilitiesWork directly with customers to gather requirements, present design solutions, and implement website updatesDesign user-centered, accessible, and visually engaging website experiencesCreate wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new websites and featuresDevelop and implement front-end solutions within CMS platforms (templates, themes, components)Support and maintain existing customer websites, including implementing content updates, design changes, and feature enhancementsEnsure all designs and implementations meet WCAG and Section 508 accessibility standardsEvaluate and improve existing websites for usability, accessibility, and performanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and content partnersProvide timely, thoughtful, and supportive communication to customersStay current with web design, accessibility, and front-end development best practicesQualificationsStrong experience with HTML and CSS; working knowledge of JavaScriptExperience designing and building websites within a CMS environmentStrong understanding of UX principles and user-centered designKnowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similarAbility to translate customer needs into both design and functional solutionsStrong communication skills and ability to explain technical and design concepts clearlyStrong organizational and multitasking skillsSelf-motivated, creative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience working with government or public-sector websitesExperience modernizing legacy CMS websitesFamiliarity with responsive design and cross-browser compatibilityExperience working with ticketing systems or customer request workflows (e.g., Zendesk)Basic understanding of SEO, analytics, or performance optimizationWhy This Role MattersThis role bridges the gap between design and development, helping government partners deliver accessible, intuitive, and modern digital experiences.
