About the OpportunityMeriton Partners is proud to be partnered with a fast-growing, U.S.-based energy and infrastructure business that is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of high, medium, and low voltage electrical distribution equipment.The company is scaling rapidly, delivering custom, engineered-to-order solutions for large industrial and data-driven applications. Its manufacturing operations sit at the core of that growth, with increasing demand driving the need for stronger process control, efficiency, and output.This role is focused on improving manufacturing performance across complex electrical assembly environments. It combines industrial engineering principles with hands-on involvement in production, working closely with design, operations, and quality teams to optimise how products are built, tested, and delivered.Essential FunctionsDevelop, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes across assembly, wiring, busbar fabrication, and final testing of HV, MV, and LV equipmentDesign and optimise production layouts, workflows, workstations, and material flow to improve throughput and reduce wasteApply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate bottlenecks and improve efficiencyPartner with design and electrical engineering teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, assembly, and testingCreate and maintain work instructions, SOPs, routers, BOMs, and visual production aidsLead process validation activities including PFMEA, control plans, and capability studiesTroubleshoot production issues relating to quality, yield, and efficiency, and implement corrective actionsSupport new product introductions, including pilot builds, tooling requirements, and production ramp-upSpecify and implement manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and test systemsTrack and improve KPIs including yield, scrap, labour efficiency, and delivery performanceEnsure compliance with industry standards and safety regulationsWork cross-functionally with quality, supply chain, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve production challengesKey Skills and QualificationsClear communicator who can work across operators, engineers, and leadershipStrong ownership mindset with the ability to drive improvements end-to-endPractical problem-solver who challenges existing processesAdaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environmentCollaborative team player with high personal standardsMotivated and driven to contribute to a growing operationExperience / EducationBachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related field3–8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, ideally in electrical equipment or complex assembly environmentsStrong grounding in industrial engineering principles applied to productionExperience working with HV, MV, or LV electrical products highly desirableUnderstanding of electrical safety, testing, and power distribution fundamentalsProficiency with lean tools, root cause analysis, and process improvement methodologiesExperience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and ERP/MES systemsKnowledge of relevant industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, UL, IEC)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilityAble to work on-site in the Houston areaPreferred ExperienceExperience with switchgear platforms (e.g. Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric) or similarBackground in custom-build or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments
