Job DescriptionInova Fairfax Hospital - Heart and Vascular Retail Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Retail Pharmacy Technician 1 to join the team. We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.Featured Benefits:State-of-the-art medical and training facilitiesRetirement benefits with match from day oneFree Parking for all employeesExclusive savings opportunities for in-store events, theme parks, discounts, movie tickets and local offerings and so much more!Retail Pharmacy Technician 1 Job Responsibilities:Assists the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing medications and supplies.Cleans equipment and maintains all required temperature logs according to system policies and procedures.Checks medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products, removes products from inventory and works with the appropriate resource to record out of date products in the Expiring Medication log book.Performs computer entry of prescription information including, but not limited to, patient/prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation/entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.Prepares medications for clients through mixing medications, counting pills, and labeling bottles.Minimum Qualifications:Work schedule: shift varies (Day shift.)Education: High School or GED.Experience: One (1) year Retail Pharmacy Technician experience.Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license.
