Application Engineer for Automated Vehicle Marshalling (AVM)

We are seeking an Application Engineer who is passionate about deploying complex systems and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. This is a two-year fixed-term full-time contract (40-hour working week). Responsibilities: • Deploy and debug Embotech’s Automated Vehicle Marshalling (AVM) solution at customer sites, test areas and factory environments • Drive the rollout of Embotech’s AVM solution to new customer sites according to the agreed rollout timeline • Serve as a frontline technical contact for customers during launch, ramp-up, and ongoing operations • Improve system performance through root cause analysis • Prepare system configuration improvements through simulation and coordinate their implementation with all relevant stakeholders • Identify recurring customer pain points and translate them into actionable product or feature requirements • Report test results and issues efficiently and consequently to development and business teams. • Support deployments that may require work outside standard business hours during critical launch, maintenance, or recovery windows. • Collaborate with product management, software engineers and controls engineers to deliver a well integrated full autonomous driving stack Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, or similar • Hands-on experience with advanced control systems methods, particularly Model Predictive Control (MPC) • Proven experience in real-world system deployment, debugging complex technical systems, and working with digital twins • Willingness to work shifts / flexible schedule • Perform work at client location in Spartanburg as primary work location • Willingness to travel 50% of the time to additional customer sites (car factories mainly in Europe and US) & flexibility to support critical deployments outside standard business hours as needed • Experience with Linux (native or WSL) • Self-driven team player with hands-on mentality • Knowledge of system modelling and analysis techniques • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements • Ability to legally travel internationally and operate vehicles required (special training for test vehicles training will be provided by Embotech) • Speaking German is a plus Embotech is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
