OUCARES Assistant Youth Program Coordinator

N/A Minimum QualificationsPositive attitude towards all autistic individuals.Ability to work independently, and maintain consistent communication with a team.Must be a team player that is flexible when needed.Must have basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteA sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely manner, with excellent management and problem solving skills.Dependable, detail oriented and organized with strong communications skills.A passion to learn and make a positive difference.Experience working with the disability community.Must be available to work evenings and weekends to meet programming needs.Desired QualificationsBachelor's degree in special education, communications, human services, or related field desired but not required.At least 2 years' experience working with the disability community.Understanding of marketing strategies.Experience in volunteer recruitment and training.Ability to identify gaps in operations and develop processes to fill gapsPosition PurposeTo assist in the coordination and implementation of OUCARES programs and special events that will take place at Oakland University as well as off campus locations.Job DutiesThis person will be an OUCARES ambassador planning, promoting, and implementing programs and events. Most programs and events take place during evenings and weekends.The assistant coordinator will manage the administrative duties that pertain to programming and special events including but not limited to room reservations, participant folders, overseeing volunteers, communications with families, developing behavior supports, and the preparation for each program. This will also include planning and monitoring each program to ensure that OUCARES standards and policies are adhered to.In addition, the assistant coordinator will be a liaison for parents/caregivers with a participant enrolled in OUCARES programs by explaining the benefits of the programs. Also part of being a liaison will be to communicate to the Program Coordinator and Director any issues or concerns that may arise.Job Open Date 03/20/2026 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes
