Assistant Controller

Status: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Finance/AccountingPosition SummaryThe Assistant Controller role is an integral position within the finance team. The Assistant Controller will manage the Company's revenue accounting function, ensuring the accurate, timely, and appropriate application of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606, across Cryo and Electrolyzer revenue streams. This role will be a key partner to Commercial and Operations leadership as we progress towards our path to profitability. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, sound professional judgment, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic public company environment while managing one or more direct reports.Core Duties And ResponsibilitiesGather and analyze customer contracts for revenue recognition over time and on a point-in-time basis under ASC 606 across assigned revenue streamsMaintain key accounting schedules supporting revenue recognition calculationsRespond to external auditor inquiries and provide timely delivery of complete, accurate and audit-ready supporting documentationManage key tasks and close activities in the monthly and quarterly close cycles (examples include journal entries, account reconciliations, controls, and footnote disclosures)Supervise and develop direct reports within the Revenue teamPartner with the sales and operations team to execute revenue accounting activitiesLeverage Business Intelligence tools to improve close efficiency through standardization, automation and continuous improvement initiativesPrepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analysis as defined by the operations leadership team for business needsAssist in the development and maintenance of significant accounting policies Assist in the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley program, including documentation, testing, and risk assessmentRepresent the Company in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsOther duties as assignedEducation And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in AccountingFive (5) or more years of public accounting experience; Big 4 preferredTwo (2) or more additional years of experience within a manufacturing company preferred Proficient understanding of internal control conceptsDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailStrong communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and complex assignmentsAbility to model high standards of professionalismSelf-motivated individual with a critical thinking, problem-solving mindsetDemonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office softwarePay Rate$86,400.00 - $135,000.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
