You will own the technology vision end to end, shaping the systems that power critical business decisions while staying close to the work through hands-on development. We are looking for a builder and a leader who can turn strategy into execution and make results happen.We are seeking an exceptional technology leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on technical expertise. This role requires someone who can architect solutions, lead teams, and roll up their sleeves to write code. The ideal candidate brings both leadership experience and a passion for building great software to address complex business challenges.Responsibilities:**Technical Leadership** Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectivesArchitect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems across the technology stackMake critical technology decisions on frameworks, platforms, and infrastructureEstablish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and development methodologiesDrive technical innovation while maintaining system stability and performance**Hands-On Development** Contribute to critical features and technical initiatives through direct codingConduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to engineering teamsTroubleshoot complex technical issues and production incidentsMaintain deep understanding of the codebase and technical architecture**Team Leadership & Management** Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering teamFoster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellenceConduct performance reviews, career development planning, and technical coachingRecruit top technical talent and establish effective hiring processesBalance team capacity across feature development, technical debt, and innovation**Cross-Functional Collaboration** Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutionsCommunicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiencesManage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party solutionsCoordinate with security, infrastructure, and operations teamsRequired Qualifications:**Technical Expertise** 10+ years of software development experience with modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or similar)Deep understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and software engineering principlesExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern infrastructure practicesStrong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL), APIs, and distributed systemsProficiency with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern development toolsLeadership Experience: 5+ years leading engineering teams preferred but not requiredProven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budgetExperience scaling engineering organizations and establishing technical processesDemonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with tactical executionProfessional Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinkingExperience with agile methodologies and iterative developmentAbility to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environmentsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Preferred Qualifications: Commercial real estate or property technology experienceUnderstanding of property management, leasing workflows, facility operations, or PropTech solutionsExperience with machine learning, data engineering, or AI technologiesKnowledge of security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, etc.)What We Offer Competitive salaryComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceProfessional development budget and conference attendanceCollaborative culture that values both technical excellence and leadershipTownhouse Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
