We focus on simplifying people operations, strengthening compliance, and acting as atrue partner invested in each client’s long‑term success.Role DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Tax Manager to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert on payroll tax matters, ensuring accurate and timely compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions for our diverse client base. You’ll collaborate closely with payroll and benefits teams to deliver the seamless, high-touch service our clients depend on.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of payroll tax compliance, including federal, state, and local tax filings, deposits, and reconciliationsServe as the primary point of contact for payroll tax inquiries from clients and internal teamsResearch and resolve payroll tax notices, amendments, and agency correspondenceManage monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax processes including W-2 and 1099 reconciliation and distributionPartner with the payroll operations team to ensure accurate tax setup and configuration for new and existing clientsIdentify process improvement opportunities and support the implementation of best practicesMaintain organized, audit-ready documentation for all payroll tax activitiesRequired Qualifications2+ years of payroll tax experience, preferably in a multi-client environmentProven experience managing a tax department or teamExpert-level proficiency in the full tax lifecycle, including accurate preparation, filing, and payment of federal and state taxesStrong knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local payroll tax regulationsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsActive CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferredProject management experience, including the ability to manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and cross-functional initiatives simultaneouslyExperience working with iSolved payroll platformProficiency with payroll software and standard office tools
