This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys balancing technical compliance with meaningful customer interaction.As a key member of the team, you will work directly with applicants, participants, and landlords—guiding them through program requirements, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and helping families access stable housing. You'll play an important role in maintaining program integrity while delivering a positive and supportive experience for the community we serve.This position offers a meaningful opportunity to build expertise in housing programs, develop strong professional skills, and contribute to work that has a direct impact on individuals and families in Missoula.What You'll DoSupport Applicants & Determine EligibilityReview and process program applications with accuracy and careVerify eligibility (income, household composition, background checks) in accordance with HUD guidelinesConduct applicant interviews and clearly explain program requirements, rights, and responsibilitiesManage Vouchers & Participant RecordsIssue Housing Choice Vouchers and lead participant briefingsPerform annual recertifications to ensure continued eligibilityMaintain accurate, up-to-date participant records to support compliance and auditsEnsure Property & Program ComplianceCoordinate inspections to confirm properties meet HUD standardsPartner with landlords and tenants to resolve deficiencies in a timely mannerMaintain thorough documentation to ensure regulatory complianceMaintain Compliance & ReportingEnsure adherence to HUD regulations, Fair Housing laws, and internal policiesAssist with reporting on occupancy, voucher utilization, and program performanceCollaborate with internal and external partners to maintain program accountabilityDeliver Excellent Customer ServiceServe as a trusted point of contact for participants and landlordsRespond to inquiries, resolve concerns, and provide clear guidanceManage caseloads and support participants throughout program participationData & Documentation ManagementMaintain accurate and confidential participant filesPerform data entry, system audits, and quality control checksCollaborate & GrowWork cross-functionally with inspection, finance, and compliance teamsParticipate in training and professional development to stay current on regulationsWHAT YOU'LL BRINGSKILLS & STRENGTHSStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to interpret and apply complex regulationsExcellent communication and customer service skillsStrong time management and ability to prioritize competing tasksSound judgment and professionalism in sensitive situationsProficiency in Microsoft Office and database systemsAbility to adapt to changing policies and program requirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field ORHigh school diploma/GED with 2+ years of relevant experience (housing, social services, compliance, property management, or customer service)Valid Montana Driver's License (or ability to obtain)Reliable transportationStrong computer skills, including a typing speed of at least 50 WPMPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working directly with the public in a service-oriented roleExperience with housing programs, compliance, or government regulationsExperience handling confidential information with discretionFamiliarity with housing management software (e.g., Yardi or similar systems)Bilingual skills are a plusPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE (But not required)HUD programs and applicable federal, state, and local regulationsFair Housing and landlord-tenant lawsBusiness communication and standard office practicesWhy Join Us?Make a real difference in people's livesWork in a mission-driven, team-oriented environmentGain valuable experience in housing and public serviceOpportunities for learning, growth, and professional developmentBenefitsSalary: $43,680-$54,080 ($21-26/hr) DOEThe listed salary range reflects a starting point for this position.
