Location: Austin, TXSalary: $60.00 USD Hourly - $65.00 USD HourlyDescription: Our client is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Identity and Authenticatio LocationAustin, TXWork ModelHybrid (4 days a week onsite)Duration12 months with possibility of extensionAbout the Job We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable, secure, and highly reliable authentication solutions for high-volume digital platforms. In this role, you will lead technical teams, guide architecture decisions, and help build applications that support mission-critical transactions with strong availability, performance, and quality standards. You will work closely with engineering, solution architecture, and platform teams to ensure systems are aligned with strategic technology goals, modern engineering practices, and long-term platform standards. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about software excellence, agile delivery, and mentoring engineers across multiple teams. Responsibilities Lead technical teams in delivering scalable and reliable applications that align with business timelines, budget expectations, and long-term technology strategy. Build and enhance authentication and identity solutions for high-traffic transaction systems with strict uptime and performance requirements. Partner with Solution Architects and Platform Architects to ensure implementations follow approved architecture and design standards. Promote and strengthen platform engineering principles, development standards, and architectural best practices. Champion software quality, engineering excellence, and agile delivery practices across teams. Coach and support engineers across multiple teams, encouraging collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. Define, maintain, and enforce standards for development, coding, testing, automation, and release processes. Contribute to the design of systems capable of supporting high transaction throughput and strong service availability. Respond effectively to production issues and time-sensitive technical challenges in high-pressure environments. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. Experience leading engineering teams in the delivery of large-scale web applications. Experience with Java Experience with JavaScript and modern web application frameworks. Experience building RESTful APIs. Experience with Spring Cloud or similar API gateway technologies. Experience with test automation frameworks such as JUnit, Karma, Cucumber, Java BDD, or accessibility testing tools. Experience with databases such as MongoDB. Experience with logging, monitoring, and operational analysis tools. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery practices. Experience with containerized deployment models. Understanding of authentication and identity protocols such as OAuth and SAML. Strong software design experience building highly available systems that support high transaction volume and integrate with internal and external applications. Ability to solve complex technical problems in high-stress, time-critical production environments. Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and a continuous learning mindset. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Angular. Experience with .NET/C#. Experience building consumer-facing web applications. Experience with PostgreSQL. Experience with observability and reporting tools such as Splunk, BigQuery, or Grafana. Experience with CI/CD and code quality tools such as GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Sonar, Black Duck, or Veracode. Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS. Experience with performance testing and performance engineering. Experience building identity and authentication platforms used by multiple downstream applications. Familiarity with NIST identity standards.
