Paver Operator
Location Hialeah Gardens, FL 33018
Job Description The Paving Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner at various construction sites. The Paving Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as direct policies, procedures and operator manuals.
Responsibilities Responsible for the operation of paving machinery to spread, leave, and smooth asphalt or concrete.
Ensure the material meets specific grade and thickness requirements.
Climbs loader, starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and driver loader to force bucket into bulk materials.
Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled and moves levers to dump material.
Participates in making sure the quality and quantity of raw materials meets established standards.
Ensure assigned established performance indicators are met.
Communicates with job Superintendent to report equipment issues to be resolved as promptly as possible.
Always adheres to all AEDC and OSHA rules and regulations and wears proper safety equipment while on all job sites.
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently.
Job involves sitting most of the times but also involves walking or standing for times when assisting the job operation on the ground when needed.
While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to communicate and hear with other employees and/or GC employees as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
