Job Requirements (PCU RN / Stepdown RN / Travel Nurse) Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown RN experience (progressive care, telemetry or stepdown units) Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program BLS and ACLS certifications required EPIC charting system experience required (experience with EPIC preferred) NIHSS certification preferred Clinical skills: IV start, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, insulin drip titration, arterial line care, central/PICC/peripheral line care, blood product administration, phlebotomy, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, pre/post hemodialysis, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac Experience on rapid response/code teams and using isolation precautions/PPE Two professional references required (one from manager/director or formal leadership) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Primary Responsibilities (Progressive Care / Telemetry RN) Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in PCU and stepdown units Float between units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed across campus locations Manage patient ratios typically 1:3–4 in a progressive care/telemetry setting Perform and monitor specialized progressive care procedures and equipment Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV therapy, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic medical record Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and institutional policies Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care and family support Ready to take the next step in your travel nursing career?
