The Registered Dietician will assess patients’ nutritional status, review medical histories, and interpret clinical data to develop individualized nutrition care plans. Daily responsibilities include providing medical nutrition therapy, offering nutritional counseling and education to patients and families, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to support treatment goals. The role also involves monitoring and documenting patient progress, adjusting interventions as needed, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based guidelines. Additional tasks may include participating in interdisciplinary rounds, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and educating staff on nutrition-related topics.Qualifications Strong foundation in Dietetics and Nutrition to assess needs, plan interventions, and support overall patient health.Proficiency in Nutritional Counseling and Weight Management to guide patients in behavior change and sustainable lifestyle improvements.Experience with Medical Nutrition Therapy to manage nutrition-related conditions in an acute or hospital setting.Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential and state licensure (or eligibility) for New York, as required.Experience in a hospital or clinical setting, including charting in EHR systems and working with interdisciplinary teams.Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA) and adherence to ethical practice guidelines.Excellent communication, patient education, and documentation skills, with the ability to serve diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; completion of an accredited dietetic internship or supervised practice program.
