Job description:Highland Farm is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team! Our open position combines farm work with weekend responsibilities at local farmers markets. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about local farms, healthy, artisanal food, and enjoys engaging with the public.ResponsibilitiesThis is a two-part role with distinct responsibilities during the week and on the weekend.Farm Support (Weekday)Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Fulfilling, packing and shipping orders.Answering phones, assisting customers in the farm shop.Assisting with inventory tracking, restocking and organization.Assisting with production of value added products.Assisting with daily farm operations, such as animal care and feeding.Maintaining and cleaning farm equipment and work areas.Supporting farm management with miscellaneous tasks as needed.Farmers Market Sales (Weekend)Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Loading and transporting market supplies and products from the farm to the market location.Setting up and breaking down the farmers market booth.Engaging with customers in a friendly, professional manner to promote and sell products.Handling transactions accurately.Collecting customer feedback and communicating it back to the farm team.Ensuring the market display is attractive, well-stocked, and compliant with all market regulations.Securing and returning unsold produce and supplies to the farm.We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to both the farm and market locations.Experience in sales, retail, or a related customer-facing role is preferred.Prior experience in agriculture or farming is a plus, but not required—we are willing to train the right person.A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.Job Type: Full-timeWork Location: In person
