Our work blends artistry, craftsmanship, and construction to bring imaginative environments to life.We're looking for a Field Artist who thrives in a hands-on, outdoor environment and takes pride in creating high-quality 3D themed elements. This role combines artistic craftsmanship with real-world construction, working directly in the field to sculpt, paint, fabricate, and finish immersive environments. If you love seeing your work come to life at scale-and don't mind getting your hands dirty-this role is for you. This is a traveling role throughout the U.S.What You'll DoCreate and install 3D themed elements including sculptures, rockwork, textures, and specialty finishesApply specialty paint finishes, coatings, and artistic renderings to meet design intentInterpret blueprints, renderings, and field direction to execute artistic scope accuratelySculpt, carve, weld, cut, grind, sand, spray, brush, and mix materials using a variety of toolsBuild and refine forms, molds, parts, and structural components for durability and accuracyComplete work from surface preparation through final detailingCollaborate with designers, superintendents, engineers, and field teamsTrack progress and communicate clearly through written and verbal updatesOperate equipment such as scissor lifts and boom liftsMentor and support less experienced artists as neededWork safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirementsWhat You BringEducation & KnowledgeHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred: Experience with fiberglass, steel, concrete, carpentry, and artistic fabricationAbility to read and understand blueprintsOSHA-10 certification before hire dateExperienceAt least 1 year in a related role (combined education and experience considered)Hands-on experience with hand tools and artistic materialsPreferred: Forklift and light equipment operation experienceSkills & AbilitiesStrong sculpting, painting, and fabrication skillsSolid communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamCritical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skillsCommitment to safety and quality workmanshipDemonstrates COST's core competencies, including accountability, trust, and results-driven performancePhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in varied weather conditionsRegular lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and balancingMust lift up to:70 lbs (floor to waist)90 lbs (waist to chest)25 lbs (chest to overhead)Must pass a respirator medical evaluationExposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate-to-loud noiseOvertime may be required based on project deadlinesWhy COST?Work on unique, high-visibility projects across the countryCollaborate with talented artists and buildersGrow your craft while creating immersive environments people loveBe part of a team that values safety, quality, and creativityWe offer great benefits, PTO, travel opportunities, etc.
