CMM Programmer

*Location: *Grand Rapids, Michigan / West Michigan
*Position Overview*
* A growing medical-device manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on CMM and vision systems programmer to support multiple active product launches and accelerate inspection-program timelines.
* This person will help create measurement programs from scratch, modify existing programs, and respond to urgent programming needs that arise during new-product introduction and production support.
* The ideal candidate has practical experience programming CMMs and Keyence vision systems, is comfortable working onsite with manufacturing and engineering teams, and can quickly move between planned work and time-sensitive issues.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Develop CMM inspection programs from scratch for medical-device components.
* Modify, optimize, and troubleshoot existing CMM programs.
* Program and support Keyence vision systems and automated optical-comparison equipment.
* Use ZEISS CALYPSO or comparable CMM programming software.
* Support measurement-program development for new product launches, design transfer, and NPI activities.
* Perform or support Type 1 gauge studies and other measurement-system activities as
* needed.
* Review part drawings, tolerances, and inspection requirements and translate them into effective measurement programs.
* Work with quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams to resolve programming issues and remove launch bottlenecks.
* Handle urgent requests and shifting priorities while maintaining accurate program documentation and status tracking.
* Help reduce the current backlog of measurement-program requests, which may range from several hours to multiple days per program.
* Communicate progress, risks, and timeline impacts to project stakeholders.
*Required Qualifications*
* 3–5+ years of hands-on CMM programming experience; more experience is welcome.
* Experience programming and modifying CMM inspection programs.
* Experience with ZEISS CALYPSO or a comparable CMM programming platform.
* Experience with Keyence vision systems, automated optical comparators, or similar automated inspection equipment.
* Ability to work onsite in the Grand Rapids / West Michigan area.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
* Ability to create programs from scratch, not only maintain or edit existing programs.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond effectively to urgent production or launch issues.
Pay: $43.80 - $52.75 per hour
