Data Center TechnicianLocation: Varies - this team will travel to different sites across the country. Memphis is the preferred location as a lot of work will be performed there, however this person MUST be comfortable traveling to various sites across the country at different times.Travel: [e.g., 75-100% / regional / project-based]Employment Type: Full-time and contractSalary: 70-100K (depends on experience - Team Leads will be on the higher end)Job Summary: The Data Center Technician is responsible for the physical installation and positioning of data center infrastructure, including server racks, cabinets, and related hardware. This role supports large-scale deployment projects by safely moving, assembling, securing, and preparing equipment for integration within data center environments.Technicians work as part of a team to ensure racks are properly placed, anchored, and ready for server/network installation. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role requiring attention to safety, precision, and teamwork.Key Responsibilities:Transport, position, and install server racks and cabinets within data centersDrill into concrete floors and secure racks using anchors and bolts per specificationsAssist with layout alignment based on floor plans and deployment schematicsOperate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, lifts) as neededPerform basic cabling tasks, including routing and dressing cablesEnsure all installations meet safety standards and data center requirementsMaintain a clean and organized work environment on-siteFollow detailed instructions from team leads and project managersSupport inventory handling, staging, and equipment preparationAdhere to all OSHA and site-specific safety protocolsRequirementsBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience in construction, warehousing, data center work, or similar hands-on environments preferredAbility to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the dayComfortable using power tools (drills, anchors, etc.)Ability to work in a team-oriented environmentWillingness to travel Preferred QualificationsPrior data center deployment or rack installation experienceExperience with server rack assembly and layout alignmentBasic understanding of structured cablingCertification or experience operating an electric pallet jack (not required for all roles)Familiarity with safety procedures in industrial or technical environmentsTeam Lead Responsibilities (for Lead-Level Candidates)Oversee small teams during rack installation projectsCoordinate daily tasks and ensure work is completed according to scheduleInterpret floor plans, rack elevation diagrams, and deployment instructionsEnsure proper rack placement, anchoring, and alignmentAct as the primary point of contact between field teams and project managersEnforce safety standards and best practices on-siteProvide guidance and training to junior techniciansTeam Lead QualificationsPrior experience leading teams in data center, construction, or deployment environmentsStrong understanding of rack installation processes and best practicesAbility to read and interpret technical diagrams and layoutsProven ability to manage timelines and coordinate team activitiesWork EnvironmentData center environments, construction-like settings, and warehouse spacesFrequent standing, bending, lifting, and use of toolsMay involve working in hot/cold aisles and confined spacesPPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required as applicableAdditional NotesSome roles require certification to operate electric pallet jacks or similar equipmentOpportunities for advancement into lead or specialized deployment rolesTraining may be provided for candidates with strong mechanical aptitudeBenefitsOur comprehensive benefits package for full-time salaried employees is effective immediately upon the start date.
