The environment is supportive, growth-oriented, and grounded in both clinical excellence and compassion.Role Description The Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) will provide individual and couples counseling services using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches in a supportive private practice setting. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Silver Spring, MD, with a combination of in-office sessions and some work-from-home flexibility for telehealth services, documentation, and administrative tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and collaborating with the supervising clinician for regular clinical supervision and case consultation. The counselor will provide psychotherapy for adults experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship issues, and trauma-related symptoms, while maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality. Additional responsibilities may include participating in team meetings, engaging in ongoing professional development, and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive, and client-centered practice culture.Qualifications Current Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland, or equivalent provisional licensure, in good standing; eligibility for independent licensure over time is preferred.Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.Foundational clinical skills in intake assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual and couples counseling, with a strong interest in trauma-informed care.Experience or strong interest in working with concerns such as Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, trauma (including sexual trauma), and relationship/communication issues.Familiarity with evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT-informed work, EMDR, IBCT, EFT, or similar approaches) and willingness to learn and integrate new interventions with guidance and supervision.Strong interpersonal, listening, and rapport-building skills with diverse clients, including sensitivity to cultural, racial, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic differences.Excellent written and
