Join us.Your DepartmentThe Development team strategically plans, organizes, and executes fundraising initiatives to secure financial support for the organization's mission and activities. This includes cultivating strong relationships with donors, executing events, implementing campaigns, and ensuring effective stewardship of contributions. We collaborate with regional offices to support and improve fundraising operations at the local level, expanding the organization's reach and impact.Your ImpactThis position makes an impact at AJC by managing work with moderate, but important impact on the organization's mission and goals. Works with regular oversight to solve moderately complex problems and make moderate and significant decisions.The incumbent manages campaigns and events to secure financial resources to support the agency's mission and activities. Working under direct supervision, this position is responsible for the cultivation, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship of existing donors and new prospects, coordinating fundraising events, and serving as a Development liaison and resource to assigned Departments or Regional Offices.Your RoleContribute to the development and execution of the department's strategy, goals, objectives, and action plansManage, and facilitate fundraising campaigns, programs, events, and initiativeIdentify, research, cultivate, engage, solicit, and steward existing donors and new prospectsImplement new opportunities to expand departmental initiatives beyond existing fundraising programsParticipate and support the work of Boards, committees, task forces, or working groupsLeverage resources to help build awareness of and support for the AJC and department initiativesTrack fundraising progress throughout the yearManage department contact lists, records, data/databases, and reportingCreate reports and analyze fundraising activities, metrics and impactResearch donors and donor prospectsCoordinate, attend, and/or lead meetingsServe as a liaison to departments, Boards, committees, and other stakeholdersDevelop relationships with and engage strategic contacts, groups, and organizationsDesign and disseminate reports and marketing resources to cultivate donor interest and secure fundingSpecific to the RoleIn addition to the responsibilities listed above, the Assistant Director of Advancement & Engagement will:Manage a portfolio of 100+ donors by:Using data management and analysis to concentrate on annual donors of $5,000+, donors who are growing their annual gifts, and new donor prospects with the capacity to give $5,000+ annuallyIdentifying and recruiting new donor prospects via warm leads, professional networking, and industry gatheringsBecoming fluent in AJC's global programs and engagement opportunitiesSupervisory RoleIndividual contributorEducation, Training, and ExperienceBachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)Minimum of 5 years of related work experience and intermediate job skills and knowledgeKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPassion for the mission, goals, and objectives of AJCCommitted to AJC's core values: respect, accountability, integrity, innovation, and collaborationDemonstrates professionalism and high standards of conductAbility to write clearly, persuasively, and concisely, with excellent editing, proofreading, and grammar skillsAbility to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgroundsExcellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)Strong organization and project management skills, including the ability to set priorities and meet deadlinesCapacity to multitask and work in a fast-paced and changing environmentWilling and able to work outside of standard working hours, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekendsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook), Google Suite applications, and ZoomPhysical DemandsOffice employees:Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periodsRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingersCommunicating with others to exchange informationMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherDisclaimersThe duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
