Compliance Analyst

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Analyst to support oversight and monitoring of our compliance and data use programs. In this role, you will help ensure the organization adheres to applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and internal policies by analyzing data use practices, performing structured reviews, and partnering with stakeholders across the business. This is a hybrid position based in Jersey City, NJ, ideal for someone who is analytical, curious, and eager to grow their career in compliance and data governance.ResponsibilitiesAssist with Data Use Reviews, including evaluating how data is accessed, used, and shared across the organizationReview documentation, contracts, and system evidence to assess compliance with contractual data use obligationsExecute risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and document risks related to data usagePerform structured testing against established policies, procedures, and control requirementsDocument review activities, findings, and supporting evidence clearly and accuratelyIdentify potential data-use risks or deviations and escalate issues to senior compliance staffSupport remediation efforts by tracking action items and validating corrective actionsCollaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Information Technology, Product teams) to gather information and clarify data-use practicesMaintain organized workpapers and contribute to audit readiness and reporting effortsStay current on internal policies and relevant data governance or compliance standardsQualificationsMinimum 1+ years' experience in compliance, audit, risk, or analytics field or equivalentBachelor's degree in a related field such as Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Risk Management, Compliance, or a similar disciplineStrong attention to detail and ability to follow structured review methodologiesUnderstanding of compliance, audit, privacy, and data governance conceptsAbility to analyze information, identify inconsistencies, and apply requirements to real-life scenariosAbility to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization and across all Business Units and departmentsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document findings clearlyProficiency in data analysis and reportingProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PowerBI;Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independentlyStrong written and verbal skillsProfessional curiosity and willingness to learn regulatory, contractual, and data-use practicesLI-LM03LI-HybridAbout UsFor over 50 years, Verisk has been the leading data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry by delivering value to our clients through expertise and scale.
