Continuing Care Retirement Communities and Assisted Living Facilities for the ElderlyAdministration of Environmental Quality ProgramsResidential Intellectual and Developmental Disability, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse FacilitiesRestaurants and Other Eating PlacesHome Health Care ServicesBrief DescriptionThe Senior Regional Manager, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) will provide Health, Safety, and Environment leadership for multiple Sabert sites through the development, execution and continuous improvement of programs, processes and initiatives designed to create a safe, healthy and injury-free work environment.Major ResponsibilitiesFunctional Support Provide direct support to plant leadership to promote a safe working culture through the development, implementation, enforcement, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies and processes. Partner with manufacturing, warehouse and other department managers in the development of EHS strategies to improve EHS culture. Participate in, monitor, and report progress on leading indicators, lagging indicators and health and safety related initiatives (e.g., injury reduction, program improvements, etc.). Work directly with employees at all levels to foster a culture that recognizes safety as a priority.Program Development and ImplementationIn collaboration with others, support the development of initiatives designed to identify, evaluate, prevent, and control environmental, health, and safety hazards at the designated locations (e.g., inspections, training, communications, meetings, committee engagement, etc.), and corrective measures (e.g., investigation, injury management, etc.). Execute or oversee execution of a comprehensive plant safety training program at designated locations. Execute or oversee safety rewards and recognition programs at designated locations. Execute or oversee a contractor safety program to ensure proper HSE practices by contractors at designated locations.Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with conservation / environmental protection regulations at designated Sabert sites. Conduct and document or oversee thorough accident, incident, and “near-miss” investigations, and provide recommendations to reduce risk. Ensure compliance with all OSHA and other related regulatory requirements for documentation and reporting at designated locations. Conduct or oversee routine audits for designated sites related to HSE activities. Administer all required emergency evacuation drills for designated locations.Team Leadership Provide direction and guidance to local EHS professionals and site safety action teams; participate in the selection and performance management of these individuals. Coach and mentor safety professionals and other key staff to achieve professional growth and improved business performance. Lead and support cross-functional safety committees at each site. Lead or participate in cross-company EHS projects and initiatives.Other Handle other duties as assigned. Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Strong knowledge of federal and local HSE regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and CDC.Results orientation; self-directed; has high levels of personal initiative, energy and ownership for success.Must possess superior written and oral communication skills; able to communicate across entire breadth of the organization (shop floor – esp. in a Spanish speaking environment – to executive level).Strong team leadership and team facilitation skills; ability to work well across teams and in a matrix organization.Strong project management skills; well organized; demonstrated planning skills.Proficient in using computers and productivity software (e.g., MS Office suite).Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.QualificationsEDUCATION BS or BA degree in safety engineering, environmental or industrial hygiene or comparable field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. Certified training in Health & Safety profession preferred.Experience 7+ years of experience in the health and safety field with both manufacturing and organizational-level responsibilities.
