Your Role With Us: Medical Assistant Clinical Practice & Safety Specialist Core Functions: Under the direction of the SHMG Clinical Practice & Safety Nurse Manager, collaborates with Salem Health Medical Group Directors, clinic leaders, and Site Medical Directors to optimize MA practice across the clinic system (clinic rounding, 1:1s, and group meetings). Serves as the subject matter expert regarding MA practice through the development & revision of written standards, facilitation of bi-weekly MA Council meetings, and by providing guidance when questions and concerns are escalated by clinic MA Leads, Supervisors, or Managers. Collaborates with MA Council, Clinical Education, clinic leadership, Clinical Practice & Safety Nurse Manager and the Director of Nursing & Clinical Practice to develop and maintain MA standards, education, and competency materials. Presents MA practice related content, standards, and competencies at provider leadership meetings for discussion, review, and approval. Facilitates clinical competency skills sessions, and supports completion of required assessments in collaboration with Clinical Practice & Safety Nurse Manager and Clinical Education. Cascades communication to clinic leaders and MAs regarding regulatory/quality/safety changes that impact MA practice.
