Mechanical SuperintendentProspect Construction is currently seeking a Mechanical Superintendent to join our team based out of our Montana office.Prospect Construction is a Heavy Civil Contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure, hydraulic structures and facilities, shoring systems, large concrete tanks, pump stations, process facilities, dewatering, major excavations, structural steel, process equipment, and mechanical systems. Continued growth has expanded operations into Missoula, Montana and Sheridan, Wyoming.Position SummaryProspect Construction is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations on complex heavy civil and water infrastructure projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. Projects include pump stations, fish hatcheries, lagoon systems, process piping, and water/wastewater infrastructure.This is a hands-on field leadership role responsible for coordinating self-perform crews, subcontractors, schedules, safety, and quality throughout all phases of construction. The Mechanical Superintendent works closely with Project Managers, Foremen, Engineers, Owners, and Inspectors to successfully deliver high-quality infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.Prospect Construction self-performs key scopes of work including excavation, underground utilities, mechanical piping, equipment installation, and concrete coordination.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and self-perform crews to maintain project schedule and critical path milestones.Perform and oversee quality control for all work being performed onsite.Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and Inspectors regarding RFIs, ASIs, submittals, scheduling conflicts, and field revisions.Ensure subcontractors and field personnel comply with project scope, safety requirements, quality standards, and environmental regulations.Coordinate inspections with local agencies and project stakeholders.Maintain daily reports and jobsite documentation including manpower, production, delays, and project activities.Conduct daily jobsite walks to monitor progress, identify deficiencies, resolve field conflicts, and assist with project planning.Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and pre-construction meetings.Identify deficient work and implement corrective action to maintain project quality and schedule.Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, safety rules, and operating procedures.Communicate effectively with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and company personnel.Utilize construction management tools including email, smart phones, computers, digital documentation, and scheduling software.Qualifications Required:Minimum five (5) years of verifiable experience in heavy civil, utility, mechanical, industrial, or water infrastructure construction.Experience supervising self-perform crews and coordinating subcontractors on complex infrastructure projects preferred.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, process piping, underground utilities, equipment installation, and heavy civil construction practices.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.Strong leadership, communication, planning, safety, and organizational skills.Ability to safely lift up to 100 pounds and navigate active construction sites, including stairs, uneven terrain, and elevated structures.Commitment to Prospect Construction safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment.Prospect Construction offers a comprehensive benefits package including 100% employer-paid medical premiums for employees and eligible dependents under the HSA plan option.
