Position Type: High School Teaching Date Posted: 5/6/2026 Location: JTED @ Bridges Term of Employment: 10 months, .40 FTE, for the 2026-27 SY Salary Range: $18,540.31 - $28,716.22 Depending on experience and level of education (FTE and salary starting placement may be prorated depending upon student enrollment) FLSA Status: Exempt Summary: Implement a Culinary Arts curriculum program consistent with the district educational goals and objectives, in partnership with business, industry and district stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.Prepare curriculum and instruction for the Culinary Arts programParticipate as a member of an instructional team to promote learning activities for students consistent with the program and district objectivesCoordinate work-based learning activities for students enrolled in the programProvide constant supervision of students enrolled in the JTED Central Culinary Arts programHave thorough knowledge of Pima County JTED policies that pertain to instruction, students, student discipline, etc.Utilize and implement classroom management techniques to maintain organization, student safety, and a productive learning environmentResponsible for attendance, instruction, supervision, and grading of students. Submit reports as requested (grades, attendance, behavior, etc.)Evaluate effectiveness of learning strategies and outcomes of educational activities and make necessary provisions to meet learning needsServe as advisor of a Career and Technical Student Organization, involving students in activities at the local, state, and national levelsRecruit students for the Culinary Arts ProgramMaintain the physical facility including: equipment and suppliesParticipate in the Pima County JTED Culinary Arts/Hospitality CommitteePerform other related duties as assigned Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Qualifications/Education and/or Experience:Must possess or be able to obtain a Career & Technical Education: Family and Consumer Sciences Education teaching certificate (provisional or standard)Three years' experience in the Culinary Arts industryThree years teaching experience to include career/technical/occupational/vocational education in a certified secondary program is preferredThorough knowledge and application of secondary curriculum and instruction in career/technical/ occupational/vocational education, vocational work and apprenticeship programs is preferredAbility to obtain adjunct faculty status at Pima Community College is preferredExperience in nutrition arts and/or restaurant management is preferredMay be required to work outside normal working hoursMay be required to travel to perform work functionsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredProof of MMR immunization required, unless born prior to January 1, 1957Current negative TB test (within the last year),Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or be able to obtain oneValid Arizona Driver's LicenseMaintains current industry related certification Knowledge, skills, and abilities:Have thorough knowledge of Pima County JTED policies that pertain to instruction, students, student discipline, etc.Excellent time management and organizationalExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to use appropriate technology and able to use as an integral part of instructionUtilizes sound judgement and decision-making skillsWillingness to work with high school youthAbility to use tools and equipment related to area of instruction Application Process: Submit a signed cover letter, resume, one recent (within five years) signed professional reference letter and a copy of current certificate(s) via the district's online application system (https://www.applitrack.com/pimajted/onlineapp).
