Job Title: Packaging Materials Engineer Department: Engineering Reports to: Director of Technology Supervisory Responsibilities: None Position Summary: The Packaging Materials Engineer is the in-house expert for plastic materials. The self-motivated and results driven professional proactively supports with packaging material selection and machine optimization to enhance Weber’s packaging offering. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for prototype tooling Provide Sales and Project Management support with packaging machine configuration In-house expert for plastics processing. Design innovative packaging solutions and execution of in-house tests for solution validation Advise Customers, Sales, Project Management and Engineering with package design and film material selection Conducts field applications activities including in plant tests and applications-based service calls Publishes clear and complete technical documentation of all involved packaging tests. Perform basic trouble shooting of demonstration equipment. Duties as assigned Required Skills and Abilities Excellent technical writing skills. Good presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively provide technical explanations tailored to varying audiences. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent technical written and verbal skills. Ability to understand customer needs, transfer them into technical solutions and communicate value proposition. Education and Experience Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or: Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in a related field. Other Requirements Current valid U.S. driver's license. Valid U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain one. Must have the ability to frequently travel within North America and Germany occasionally.
