We are seeking a skilled and experienced Library Technician to join our team!The Library Technician assists librarians in providing library services to patrons. This role involves helping users locate books and other materials, managing library records, and maintaining the organization and circulation of library resources. The position may also include providing services through mobile libraries. Key Responsibilities: Assist patrons in using library catalogs, databases, and indexes to locate materials. Answer basic reference questions requiring brief consultation of standard resources. Compile and maintain library records and databases. Sort, shelve, and organize books and other media. Inspect, repair, or remove damaged materials as needed. Register patrons and manage the check-in/check-out process of library materials. Maintain proper placement of materials in shelving areas and files. Operate or assist in the operation of mobile libraries (bookmobiles) when applicable.Qualifications: Experience working in a library or information services setting preferred. Basic knowledge of library cataloging and classification systems. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Good customer service and communication skills. Ability to handle physical tasks such as shelving and moving materials. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Library Science or related field preferred.Position is contingent upon award.
