Application Engineering Manager

Job Description: Lead, coach, and mentor engineers; foster a culture of ownership, quality, accountability, and continuous improvementDrive predictable delivery through effective planning, execution, risk management, and cross-team coordinationRemove blockers through active technical engagement, including debugging, design reviews, and rapid problem resolutionProvide architecture and design leadership to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainableConduct code and design reviews, reinforcing engineering best practices and sound system designDeep dive into complex production issues across frontend, backend, and database layers to restore service and prevent recurrenceLead development and ongoing support of NodeJS services/APIs and React web applications with clean, extensible architectureOversee SQL Server data design and performance, including schema design, complex queries, stored procedures, and tuningEnsure strong API integration patterns (RESTful and internal services), resiliency, and secure-by-design practicesLead engineering execution across Azure and GCP environments, including deployment readiness, operational reliability, and scalabilityPromote engineering practices aligned with hosted and cloud-native architectures, high availability, and operational excellenceProvide technical leadership for ColdFusion applications (CFML, CFCs, custom tags, modular design), including integration with modern web stacksLead support and modernization of Windows C++ desktop and service-based applications, including debugging, performance optimization, and reliability improvementsEnsure structured engineering workflows using Git-based version control and disciplined release processesPartner closely with QA, Product, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to maintain high quality and release readiness across environmentsRequirements: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience2+ years of experience leading engineersProficiency in NodeJSProficiency in ReactProficiency in PythonProficiency in SQL ServerProficiency in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Proficiency in ColdFusionProficiency in Windows C++Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology degree preferredBenefits: healthcare, vision, and dental insurancea generous 401(k) matchpaid vacationpersonal timeholidaysgrowth and training opportunitiesremote work
