Primary Purpose:
Assist the Director of Information Systems in effectively managing the Information Systems staff which includes Data Systems Administrators, Student Analysts, and Business Analysts. The Coordinator's duties will include but are not limited to oversight of third-party data integrations, Laserfiche, Skyward SMS 2.0 Student, and Skyward Qmlativ Business. This position will also work closely with the other Coordinator of Information Services to ensure all projects and teams are supported.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma/GED (required) Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Other Technology Professional Certifications (preferable)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Business Information Systems (BIS), Student Information Systems (SIS), or related enterprise systems
2. Experience with data interpretation, data integration, integration of disparate data systems and sources
3. Ability to manage personnel and coordinate district operations across multiple departments
4. Ability to plan, implement, and maintain technology information projects in a fast-paced environment
5. Understanding of district workflows and processes and skilled at organizing and analyzing data and district processes, via forms, workflows, and reports across multiple district functions
6. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and conduct business process reviews and fit/gap analyses
7. Knowledge of reporting tools to write and create reports
8. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
9. Experience with databases, database theory, design, database structure and queries, CSV files and format, and other methods to share data across systems
10. Knowledge of data exchange processes and methods, including but not limited to API, One-Roster, and SFTP.
11. Knowledge of cyber security practices as related to data privacy
12. Knowledge of state laws, state data standards, and district policies, procedures, and business rules as they pertain to the school district’s data reporting and data management
13. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Project Management Strategies/Software
Knowledge of Classlink (preferred) Knowledge of Laserfiche systems (preferred)
Knowledge of implementing and maintaining Single Sign-on, Rostering, and Application Portal
Knowledge of Skyward SMS 2.0 Student or equivalent (preferred)
Knowledge of Skyward Qmlativ Business or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
One year of experience in the management of data computing systems
One year of experience in the supervision of personnel within a technology department (preferred)
One year managing technical projects involving multiple departments and/or key stakeholders
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Systems Management
1. Assist with the coordination of support between vendor service organizations and district staff, including programming, application support, and end-user support related to district messaging and data systems.
2. Oversee and coordinate a continuing evaluation of information and technology services related to data administration and business services and implement changes based on the findings.
3. Provide backup support for Data Systems Administrators or Skyward Analysts as needed to maintain continuity of operations.
4. Collaborate with administrators, business users, and other departments to determine needs, objectives, functions, and features to develop new solutions within data systems.
5. Implement and optimize information system configurations and ensure that system maintenance is performed. 6. Monitor and analyze system utilization and performance; recommend improvements as needed.
Policy, Reports, and Law
6. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of information management and technology.
7. Ensure compliance with data governance principles and state and federal guidelines.
8. Assist in the execution of the district’s Data Privacy Agreements with vendors.
9. Assist in the implementation and updates of the Trusted Learning Environment.
Personnel Management
10. Develop training options and improvement plans to ensure exemplary operations in the technology areas of data integration and information services.
11. Evaluate the job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness.
12. Train and supervise personnel and make sound recommendations relative to personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal.
13. Oversee and coordinate the Information Systems Analysts and Systems Administrators.
Other
14. Attend professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in information management and technology services.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Systems.
16. Facilitate training and support of information services and applications.
17. Respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
18. Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate the performance of all assigned technology department personnel.

Frequent district-wide travel. Repetitive hand motions and the prolonged use of computer equipment will be required. Lifting and moving of heavy equipment; stooping, bending, and kneeling may be required. Additionally, occasional prolonged and irregular hours may be required.
