Hydrogeologist

RK&K is seeking a Geologist or Hydrogeologist to join our Environmental / Water Resources Team in the Mid-Atlantic. As an RK&K environmental scientist you will be actively involved in a diversity of water resource related projects for local utilities, government agencies and private companies to protect the environment, and provide water supply and water management solutions throughout RK&Ks regional footprint.Essential FunctionsPrepare task documentation and progress summary reportsPrepare lithologic descriptions and geologic profiles and summaries for water supply wells Observe and document well construction activity to ensure compliance with State regulations, agency permits and design specificationsPerform on site activities, including well construction and testing inspection and well rehabilitation procedures or inspection in remote locationsInteract with clients and regulatory agenciesCollaborate with other water resource and environmental professionals Permit compliance and construction inspection for deep water supply wells and Class I underground injection control (UIC) wellsRequired Skills And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Geosciences, Environmental Sciences or equivalent, Masters preferredMinimum 8+ years of relevant experienceProfessional registration in NC and/or Va with ability to become registered as necessary within RK&K’s regional footprintExperienced with MODFLOW / MT3DMS, SEAWAT Experience with permit compliance and construction inspectionTeam-orientedAdept at juggling multiple tasks in various geographiesExcellent at written and verbal communicationMotivated to find creative solutions to environmental problemsExcited to work outdoors in all seasonsAbility to travel to project sites and work outsidePreferred Skills And ExperienceMaster’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or equivalent Experience with field documentation methods and technical writing OSHA HAzCom TrainingLithologic identification, geosciences background, construction monitoring, with CADD, and GIS experience considered a plus.CPR/First Aid trainingOther DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
